Services include:

Support for victims of domestic violence and abuse

The Dudley Domestic Violence and Abuse Support Service offers the nationally recognised Independent Doemstic Violence Advice (IDVA) service, offering support to high and medium risk victims of domestic abuse through one-to-one practical and emotional support and advocacy. You can read more about how an IDVA can help you here.

Getting help: Accessing the Service

Self referral: If you need help, get in touch with us on 01384 455 411. We will need to take some information over the phone and complete a referral form. We will then invite you to an initial appointment to see if the service is right for you.

Agency Referrals: To refer a victim of domestic abuse, agencies will need to complete a referral form and undertake their own DASH risk assessment to determine eligibility for service. If help is needed in completing the DASH, our IDVAs are on hand to offer advice and guidance. The IDVA service is available to victims assessed at high or medium risk. To request a referral pack, please email and we can arrange for referral forms to be emailed to you.

Community Development

In 2015 we launched a new community development campaign in Dudley, building links with communities to open conversations about issues which often remain hidden: domestic abuse; sexual violence; grooming and exploitation; forced marriage and honour-based violence. By informing and empowering people to communicate about these issues within their own communities and workplaces, we hope to reach hidden victims with the message that they don’t have to suffer in silence. We are recruiting Community Champions across Dudley to take part in the project. We want to hear from people in community centres, children’s centres, food banks, libraries, shops, salons, schools, tenants’ associations, faith organisations and more.  Each Champion will receive specialist training in understanding and communicating about abuse, organising local campaigns, and how to refer victims to the specialist support they need.

Come and join us as a Community Champion: you could really make a difference in the fight against abuse. Please contact Cara Donald, our Volunteer Coordinator, to find out more. The project is supported by the People's Postcode Trust and will run until February 2016.
